The Stormy Wildflower

As I listen to the rain,

I let it wash away,

All the things that cloud my brain,

And the worries of the day.

The thunder claps and lightning strikes,

The storm is closer now,

The air swirls and excites,

As the sky begins to growl.

Beyond the darkness and the booms,

There is the beginning of life,

The budding flowers start to bloom,

In the pouring rain they stand with grace and might.

In the face of this ominous storm,

They still know what to do,

Even though they have leaves torn,

They simply shed them and grow anew.

If only I could be the flower,

Persevering through the rain,

Delicate but not without power,

The wildflower forever untamed.
